Print Design Process

Clients often ask how the print design process works for business cards, postcards, print ads, brochures or other projects.

We start with a meeting, in person or on the phone, to discuss your brand, your preferences and what the goal of the printed piece is (ex: getting people buy a product on your website or having customers visit your store.)

When you decide to move forward, I will send over a contract to be completed and 50% of the total is due via check or PayPal. At this point you will send over any text, photos, logos and other elements you want included in your design. We may also decide to purchase stock photos or hire a photographer to ensure your project looks its best. I will also need to know which printer you prefer to use. I can also recommend one if you do not have one.

Once that is complete, I design your print layout concept for review for your business card, postcard, print ad, brochure or other print project.

Then you review the design and let me know if you have any changes to the layout, text, colors or other design elements.

With feedback in mind, I make updates or changes that we discuss.  You then review the second version of the print layout concept and let me know if you have any other changes to the layout, text, colors or other design elements.

With this feedback in mind I present you the final print design. Very rarely does anyone need further rounds of revisions, but if you do they will provided for an additional fee. Once your final payment is submitted (the remaining 50% plus possibly the cost of any stock photos or additional rounds of revisions if needed), I send over your final files to you and your printer, including the master vector EPS file, a PDF and a JPEG.

This entire process can take as few as 5 days, if you like one the original design and only have minor tweaks.
